The Science of Precision: The Shrink Fit Tooling System

Shrink fit technology represents the pinnacle of tool-holding rigidity and concentricity. By utilizing the principles of thermal expansion, the Lyndex-Nikken Shrink Fit system creates a 360-degree, uniform grip on the tool shank that is virtually indistinguishable from a solid piece of steel. How Induction Shrink Fit Works

  • Superior Balance: The symmetrical design of the holder makes it naturally balanced for high-RPM operations (up to 50,000 RPM and beyond), reducing spindle wear and preventing harmonic chatter.

The Role of the Cooling System

Precision is not just about heating; it’s about controlled cooling. The Lyndex-Nikken system utilizes specialized cooling sleeves that move heat away from the holder rapidly and evenly. This prevents the metal from “setting” unevenly, which could compromise the accuracy of the holder over time.
