Shrink fit technology is widely considered the gold standard for high-speed, high-precision machining. By utilizing the principles of thermal expansion and contraction, a shrink fit holder creates a 360-degree, symmetrical grip on the tool shank. This results in a connection so rigid that the tool and the holder effectively become a single, solid unit.
