The Lyndex-Nikken SK (Slim Ken) collet chuck system is engineered for manufacturers who require a level of precision and rigidity that exceeds the capabilities of standard ER collet systems. As spindle speeds increase and part tolerances tighten, the interface between the machine and the cutting tool becomes the most critical link in the production chain.

Key Advantages of the SK System

  • The 8-Degree Taper Advantage: Unlike the common 16-degree taper found in ER systems, the SK collet uses a shallower 8-degree taper. This geometry provides significantly higher clamping force and ensures that the tool is seated with absolute concentricity.

Solving the “Interference” Problem

In 5-axis machining and complex mold-making, clearance is often as important as rigidity. The “Slim” in Slim Ken refers to the reduced nose diameter of the holder.
