If you do frequent setups, are experiencing scrap or rework due to tool errors, a CNC tool setter streamlines the tool setting process offline to keep the spindle running and increase throughput. The tool setter also enhances machining precision and contributes to efficient production in manufacturing. Presetting tools offline is essential for manufacturers looking to optimize their workflow and maintain high levels of accuracy in CNC machining.

TOOL PRESETTER PROVIDES THERMAL STABILITY COUPLED WITH HIGH PRECISION

An E346BA model Presetter with a touchscreen display to the right, an interchangeable spindle in the center, and a camera used for precision measurement in industrial settings.Elbo Controlli Nikken tool presetters from Lyndex-Nikken are designed for rock solid precision and combine the best of both worlds for thermal stability and optical precision. This combination provides the highest level of repeatability and reproducibility, making a tool presetter ideal for most tool measuring and inspecting applications. Elbo Controlli NIKKEN tool presetters provide this needed precision and are an optimal solution for workshop environments due to:

Four labeled product features: granite base and column for stability, interchangeable spindles, 100 CNC post processors included, and free software updates included for the model’s lifetime.

Thermal Stability

Elbo Controlli Nikken’s tool presetter from Lyndex-Nikken has a granite base, column, and scales which guarantee a high degree of long-term thermal and dimensional stability, require no software compensation, and need no periodic recalibration – ensuring precision and consistency in measurements.

Elbo Controlli Nikken is the only manufacturer in the world that uses natural granite for the base, column, and scales of their tool presetter. This is because granite is a natural material with one of the lowest thermal expansion coefficient in the world.

Thermal expansion happens when there is an increase in temperature – the result is errors in measuring machines. This heating and expansion are much more sensitive when using a metal mass rather than one composed of natural granite. So, a tool presetter constructed with granite will take longer to rise in temperature, which creates better thermal and dimensional stability, than a tool setter constructed out of cast iron or aluminum.

So, if you want machining accuracy – you need an Elbo Controlli Nikken tool presetter with granite construction that offers thermal stability and superior flatness compared to cast iron or aluminum.

Interchangeable Spindles
All precision spindle systems are fully interchangeable for CAT, BT, HSK, and polygonal tapers. The one-piece cartridge eliminates the need for adapters and the errors associated with their use. This makes it easier for manufacturers to measure tools for multiple types of machines and achieve repeatable run out and perpendicularity.
100 Post Processors
Our CNC tool setters come loaded with 100 post processors, giving your shop seamless compatibility with nearly every major CNC machine and control. That means you can send tool data straight to the machine – no manual entry, no errors, no wasted time.

Whether you run a single-brand shop or a floor full of mixed machines, you’re covered. As you grow and add new equipment, the presetter grows with you.

Free Software Updates
Free software updates are included for the lifetime of the tool presetter model. This future-proofs your investment, extends the life of the tool setter, and keeps your operations running at peak efficiency – all with NO additional investment.

TID AUTOMATIC TOOL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM ENABLES INDUSTRY 4.0 PRODUCTION

TID (Automatic Tool Identification System) allows Elbo Controlli NIKKEN presetters to quickly identify tools and send tool offset data directly to the numerical control without interrupting any operation in progress.

The TID Automatic Tool Identification System has an intuitive graphical interface which interacts and guides the operator during use, minimizing the possibility of errors. Tools are identified by TID through a unique datamatrix code which is also associated to all tool offset data. The NC receives the tool offset data only when the tool is scanned and loaded in the machine thus avoiding transcription errors or incorrect changes to the tool offset table. TID is made more comprehensive with the ability to view the status of the tool inventory and the NC tool offset table, making it an essential component for Industry 4.0 production.

The benefits of using TID include:
